OXFORD, Miss. – The Associated Press revealed its college football All-America teams Sunday. The three teams included Ole Miss standouts Trae Elston and Robert Nkemdiche on the second team and Laquon Treadwell on the third team.

Last week, Nkemdiche and Treadwell were named second team All-Americans by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, along with junior offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.

Elston, a senior safety from Oxford, Alabama, is named an All-American for the first time in his college career. This year he has helped Ole Miss to an Allstate Sugar Bowl berth and wins over Alabama, Auburn and LSU in the same season for the first time in program history. As a 12-game starter (splitting time at free safety and Rover), Elston ranks second among Southeastern Conference players with 16 passes defended and tied for fourth with four interceptions. Two of his interceptions went for pick-sixes.

A junior defensive tackle from Loganville, Georgia, Nkemdiche has been the anchor for the Rebels’ D-line that helps Ole Miss rank top three in the SEC and top 22 nationally in tackles for loss, interceptions and takeaways. The Hornung Award finalist also has three offensive touchdowns and has blocked a field goal.

A junior wide receiver from Crete, Illinois, Treadwell is poised to break several school records with a good showing at the Sugar Bowl. The Biletnikoff Award finalist needs three catches to overtake the all-time Ole Miss career leader Chris Collins, while he can set single-season school records with two catches and 54 receiving yards. He leads all SEC receivers with 1,082 receiving yards and is second with 76 receptions.
