NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After arriving in Music City on Thursday afternoon, the Ole Miss football team pushed forward in its preparations for the 2013 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl with a full day of activities on Friday.

The day began with breakfast at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, where the team is staying until Monday's game.

After position meetings, the players loaded up the buses en route to Montgomery Bell Academy, a local high school at which the team is practicing this week. The team conducted a 1 ½ hour practice session that included a few players returning from injury.

Freshman tight end Evan Engram was practicing with the team. He suffered an ankle sprain that sidelined him for the last five games of the regular season, but still received All-SEC honors based on an outstanding start to his rookie season.

Senior cornerback Charles Sawyer is also expected to return to action after missing the last four games with injury.

Senior running back Jeff Scott was also on the practice field and is closer to full health than he has been in several weeks.

In the evening, the team attended the official bowl welcome party aboard the General Jackson Showboat. The dinner featured ribs, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and baked beans. There was also a rib-eating contest in which five representatives from Georgia Tech defeated the Ole Miss contingent of Daronte Bouldin, Laquon Treadwell, Emmanuel McCray, Woodrow Hamilton and Tyler Campbell 55-40. (Note: Ole Miss lost the bowling contest to Pitt last year before beating the Panthers in the BBVA Compass Bowl.)

Ole Miss players and coaches will attend an FCA Breakfast on Saturday morning and practice in the afternoon. Players will also join Georgia Tech players for an evening at the Nashville Predators hockey game.

The Rebels (7-5) and Yellow Jackets (7-5) will face off on Monday at 2:15 p.m. at LP Field in Nashville. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. For more bowl information, visit www.OleMissFB.com.
