PONTE VERDA BEACH, Fla. - Steady rain showers canceled Tuesday's third and final round of the John Hayt Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club.

Ole Miss was 1-under through five holes before the tournament was canceled due to unplayable conditions. The final standings were based on the first two rounds and the Rebels finished the shortened event in 14th place with a two-round total of 610. North Florida won the tournament with a final stroke total of 559.

"We had rain all night and morning," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross. "The course became saturated and unplayable at about 10:30 this morning. Our guys were playing well in spite of the conditions shooting one under through five holes. We're sorry that we were not able to get to finish, but we simply had too much rain."

Sophomore Blake Morris battled back after a tough opening round to fire a 1-under 71 yesterday and finished in a tie for 43rd. Junior Tom Brown fired a 1-over par 73 yesterday after carding a 4-over 76 on Sunday and finished T39th. Sophomore Joe Lewis turned rounds of 78 and 77 to finish T67th, while freshman Connor Davis posted rounds of 79 and 78 to finish T73rd. Freshman Forrest Gamblerounded out the Ole Miss group scores of 78 and 84 to finish 84th.

Next up the Rebels travel to Statesboro, Ga., for the Schenkel Invitational beginning March 15th. Keep up with the Men's Golf team on Twitter @OleMissMGolf and Facebook at www.facebook.com/OleMissMGolf.
