CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Freshman Ben Wolcott and junior Blake Morris each fired a 2-over par 73 to lead the Ole Miss men’s golf team in the second round of the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate at the Los Cabos Querencia Golf Club Monday.

Wolcott, who started the day tied for 21st, is currently tied for 19th place with a two-round total of 147. Morris is tied for 23rd after carding a two-day total of 148.

“We played better today, but I still believe we can do better,” Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross said. “This course is really tight and features fast, firm greens. We still had too many balls out of play to have a good team round. We did get back some confidence.”

As a team, Ole Miss shot a 12-over par 296, bringing the team’s two-day total to 601. The Rebels are tied for 10th with Lamar. No. 11 Houston is currently in first place with a two-day score of 5-over 573.

Junior Joe Lewis carded a 4-over 75 on day two and is tied for 46th. Sophomores Forrest Gamble and Connor Davis notched round-two scores of 75 and 78, respectively.

The third and final round of the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate tees off tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
