STATESBORO, Ga. - Junior Tom Brown fired a 5-under 67 to help the Ole Miss men's golf team move up to eighth place on day two at the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern.

Brown's round of 67 marks his lowest career round, besting his previous career low of 68 recorded earlier this season at the Mason Rudolph Championship.  Brown carded six birdies on the day to move into a tie for 10th.

"We played better today. I am really proud of Tom Brown," said head coach Ernest Ross. "He has his career-best 67 today in windy conditions. I was also proud of Blake Morris. He was 4-over after 3 holes, and still 4-over after 9 holes. Blake made seven birdies on the back nine to shoot a very good 71. We need a stronger round from the bottom of our lineup, and we can really move up."

Sophomore Blake Morris also rebounded after a tough start yesterday with a 1-under 71 to move up into a tie for 26rd.  Sophomore Joe Lewis carded a 72, including four birdies, and is currently tied for 23rd.

Freshmen Chris Ingham carded a 7-over 79 while Forrest Gamble carded a 10-over 82 in today's second round. Ingham and Gamble are tied for 71st and 83rd respectively heading in to tomorrow's final round.
