OXFORD, Miss. -- BancorpSouth and Ole Miss will team up to host the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate golf tournament, Monday and Tuesday in Madison.  The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Reunion Golf and Country Club.

The tournament is open to the public, and admission is free.

This tournament showcases some of the top collegiate golf talent in the Southeast and the United States.  Highlighted by No. 18 ranked Florida, the field features 15 teams.   Also among the top ranked teams is the University of North Florida at No. 22, and Ole Miss at No. 43.

All four Division I Mississippi golf schools are represented with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Jackson State.  Some of the individual players that are nationally ranked include Phillip Westerman of   Southeastern Louisiana (No. 6) and Brandon, Miss., native Jonathan Randolph of Ole Miss (No. 13).  Randolph currently leads the SEC with a 70.52 stroke average and has won three tournaments this year, most recently the Schenkel E-Z-GO.  Randolph is the reigning SEC Golfer of the Week.

This event is the only time all year in which all four Mississippi schools compete against each other in the same event.

Joining Randolph on the links will be the same four from the previous four tournaments, Joe David, Billy Brozovich, Pete Kellermann and Tom Brown.

BancorpSouth's Mid-Mississippi Region President David Barrentine said, "BancorpSouth is pleased to be the presenting tournament sponsor, helping to showcase college golf here in Mississippi. This is another example of BancorpSouth embracing our colleges and universities and their range of activities."

"On behalf of the University of Mississippi, we are excited to host the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate and for our relationship with the bank, its officers and staff," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross.  "We are very appreciative of their efforts in bringing a high-caliber golf event to central Mississippi.  Reunion Golf and Country Club is a great course and will challenge this field to the best of their ability.  We are proud to bring golfers and coaches in from all over the U.S. to see what we have in our state.  As a team, we look forward to competing against this strong field."

Reunion Golf and Country Club is a Bob Cupp-designed course that opened in 2003.   It has hosted many championships, including the USGA Amateur and Mid-Amateur qualifiers, the Mississippi State Amateur Championship, and will host the 2011 National Trusted Choice Junior Championship.  The course plays over 7,400 yards from the championship tees, and the rolling hills provide a perfect setting for a tremendous golf facility.

BancorpSouth, Inc. is a $13.2 billion-asset financial holding company.  The company operates approximately 314 banking and insurance locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas.  In addition to providing traditional banking services, credit cards, mortgages, trust and fiduciary services, the company provides investment services through its subsidiary BancorpSouth Investment Services, Inc. and insurance services through its subsidiary BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc.  BancorpSouth's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BXS.

Monday will feature 36 holes with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Tuesday's final round begins at 8 a.m.
