OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team travel to Birmingham, Ala., Monday for its third tournament of the season to compete in the 2013 Shoal Creek Intercollegiate hosted by professional golfer Graeme McDowell.
The two-day tournament will be held at the par 72, 7,234-yard Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club and features a field that includes host team UAB, No. 18 Florida, Georgia Southern, Liberty, Memphis, Missouri, No. 24 North Florida, North Texas, Ole Miss, Toledo, Tulsa and UCF.
The Rebel lineup will consist of junior Blake Morris, freshman Ben Wolcott, junior Joe Lewis, freshman Noah West and senior Tom Brown, while sophomore Forrest Gamble will compete as an individual.
"We have been playing well in qualifying for our team events, but not playing well in the real tournaments," head coach Ernest Ross said. "We need more mental toughness to take our A game on the road. It's time to get going."
Morris, a native of Waterbury, Conn., has posted strong finishes in both of the tournaments this season, including a career-best second-place finish at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate on Sept. 9-10.
