Blake Morris

Nov. 26, 2012

OXFORD, Miss. - After an impressive fall that featured four top-five finishes, Ole Miss sophomore Blake Morris was named among the nation's most improved golfers by Golf Digest.

The Waterbury, Conn. native helped the Rebels to a pair of team titles and posted a fall stroke average of 71.62, good for fourth best in the SEC according to the Golfstat Cup ranking. According to Ryan Herrington of Golf Digest, if you discard Morris' "the 15-over 231 he shot at the David Toms Intercollegiate (where he finished a respectable T-17) and his average in 10 fall rounds is 70.0."

"Blake has worked very hard in the past year on his game," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross. "He is becoming one of the top players in America and the SEC. With his desire to improve, I am sure he will continue getting better every day."

Fans can read the article at GolfDigest.com. Morris and the Rebels return to action in the spring with the John Hayt Invitational beginning Feb. 24, 2013.
