BATON ROUGE, La. - Senior Zvonimir Babic and junior Filip Kraljevic had one goal this week at the ITA Southern Regional Championships - qualify for the ITA Fall National Championships. Mission accomplished as the duo captured the ITA Southern Regional Championship Tuesday at the LSU Tennis Complex.

Babic and Kraljevic will now represent the Rebels at the Oracle/ITA Fall National Championships Nov. 1-5 in Indian Wells, California.

Courtside with Zvonimir Babic...
"This win means a lot to us. Winning this tournament is a great confirmation that we are capable of big things. We are feeling great on the court; our chemistry is incredible and from now forward we can only thrive and be even better. We are planning to enjoy our time and play good tennis again in Indian Wells."

Courtside with assistant coach Devin Britton...
"These guys came out on a mission this week. They told me before the tournament that their goal was to make it to California for the ITA Fall National Championships. The only way they could achieve that goal was to win this tournament. They were relentless the entire week with their energy and effort.

"I am very happy for Zvonimir to be able to win regionals his senior year, especially against a very respectable top 10 nationally ranked rival in the finals. I know this one means a little more to him since it is his last shot at it. It's going to be another great opportunity in California. I can't wait to see them in action out west."
