Sandkaulen Concludes Play at ITA Fall Championships

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Ole Miss men’s tennis sophomore Tim Sandkaulen concluded the Rebels’ stay at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships with a straight-set loss in the consolation semifinals to Mississippi State’s Giovanni Oradini Saturday.

Sandkaulen Concludes Fall…
In the first set of his consolation semifinal match, Tim Sandkaulen got broke in the ninth game and State’s Givovanni Oradini served out the set 6-4. Oradini broke to start the second set and that was all he needed saving break points at 5-3 to closing it out 6-3. 

Sandkaulen, who began the year ranked No. 85 in the preseason Oracle ITA Singles Rankings, finished the fall with a team-leading 9-3 record.

Giovanni Oradini (MSU) def. Tim Sandkaulen (OM) 6-4, 6-3

Hansson falls in semifinals at ITF Futures…
Senior Gustav Hansson was also playing on Saturday in the semifinals of the ITF Futures in Birmingham, Alabama. He fell to former South Florida standout and the No. 8 seed, Roberto Cid, 6-3, 6-1, to conclude his fall.

Next up…
That concludes the fall for the Rebels. They will be back in action January 20th when they kick off the 2018 season in the new indoor tennis center against Southern Miss and Troy.
