Sunday’s match against LSU is set for 1 p.m.

Promotions…
The first 100 fans at Friday’s match will receive a free popsocket. At the LSU match, fans will enjoy Sundaes on Sunday.

Last Time Out…
It’s been a little more than two weeks since Ole Miss last played a match. The Rebels defeated Princeton 5-2 on Feb. 9 and then lost to No. 5 Columbia 4-1 on Feb 11.

Scouting Texas A&M…
Texas A&M comes into the start of SEC play ranked No. 7 and 7-3 on the season. They are coming off a 4-3 loss to Oklahoma last Saturday at the College Match Day at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The Aggies are led by freshman Patrick Kypson at No. 1 singles. He is ranked No. 46 in the nation with a 4-4 record at No. 1 singles. Senior Arthur Rinderknech is ranked No. 21 with a 6-1 record at No. 2 singles. The Aggies also boast three other players in the singles rankings with Valentin Vacherot at No. 17, Jordi Arconada at No. 51 and AJ Cantanzariti at No. 86.

Rebels vs. Aggies…
Ole Miss and Texas A&M split a pair of matches last year in College Station. The Rebels won a close 4-3 match at the ITA Kick-Off, in January of 2017, and then the Aggies earned a 6-1 win in the regular season SEC meeting in April.

Scouting LSU…
LSU comes into the start of SEC play at 7-3 overall. They are coming off a 7-0 win against Nicholls State last Friday. Before heading to Oxford, the Tigers travel to Fayetteville to face Arkansas Friday. The Tigers are led by junior Shane Monroe at the top spot. Monroe is 5-3 at No. 1 singles.

Rebels vs. Tigers…
LSU leads the all-time series, including a 4-3 come-from-behind win last year in Baton Rouge. However, the last time the two teams faced each other in Oxford (2016), the Rebels won 4-1.

Rebels in the Rankings…
In this week’s Oracle/ITA Rankings, the Rebels are ranked No. 30. In the USTA Collegiate Top 25, the Rebels remained at No. 21. In the latest ITA Individual Rankings, sophomore Tim Sandkaulen is ranked No. 15 in singles with a team-leading 15-4 overall record, 6-1 in dual matches. Gustav Hansson is ranked No. 31 with an 8-4 overall record, 5-3 at No. 1 singles. Junior Filip Kraljevic is ranked No. 85. In doubles, Sandkaulen and Fabian Fallert are ranked No. 15 with a 6-1 record at No. 1 doubles, while Zvonimir Babic and Kraljevic are ranked No. 24.

At the Net with Head Coach Toby Hansson
“We’ve had a solid start to the year playing some of the top teams in the country, and it’s prepared us well for the SEC. This weekend will be another tough test for us, as we face a top-10 opponent in Texas A&M. We know what it’s going to take to beat a team of their caliber, and the guys are looking forward to the challenge.”

On playing night matches again…
“Now that we have a nice new six-court indoor facility, we are able to schedule more night matches to hopefully bring in a lot more fans. Fans can look forward to a top-level college tennis match Friday.”
