OXFORD, Miss. -- Five members of the Ole Miss men’s tennis team will switch to the clay courts this weekend for the USTA Futures in Niceville, Fla.

The event, a USTA Pro Circuit tournament at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Center, features a draw of 128 players with qualifying starting Friday, Nov 2.  The main draw will begin Tuesday, Nov. 6 and competitors will look to earn ATP ranking points.

Sophomore William Kallberg, ranked No. 56 in the collegiate rankings, will lead the Rebels in the qualifying draw.  Senior Adrian Forberg Skogeng, junior Johan Backstrom and freshmen Stefan Lindmark and Zach Wilder will also compete in the qualifying round for Ole Miss.

“The Futures Circuit is a proving ground for players trying to earn ATP points and reach the big show,” head coach Billy Chadwick said.  “Playing in USTA events in the fall gives our guys a chance to play against really good competition and helps prepare us for the spring season.”
