M-Club Alumni Donate $1 Million To Forward Together Campaign Check Presented To UMAA Foundation At Central Arkansas Game
Sept. 13, 2012
OXFORD, Miss. - In August, the M-Club Chapter of the Alumni Association announced a $1 million donation to Ole Miss Athletics and the Forward Together Campaign at its annual M-Club Weekend festivities.
M-Club Alumni Chapter President Broc Kreitz and President-Elect Jesse Mitchell presented the check to Ole Miss Athletics Director Ross Bjork and UMAA Foundation Executive Director Keith Carter during the Central Arkansas football game.
In just one year, the Forward Together campaign has raised more than $75 million, half of the overall goal of $150 million.
"The M-Club has sent an extraordinary message to Rebel Nation," said Bjork. "Our former student-athletes, managers and trainers are stepping up in a big way to help make this vision a reality."
"As a current M-Club member, I am very proud of this gift in support of the Forward Together campaign," said Carter. "This gift not only shows the commitment and passion of our M-Club members, but will go a long way toward helping us reach our goals."
Kreitz understands what a gift of this magnitude can do for the future of Ole Miss Athletics.
"We'd been talking about doing this for a couple of years," he said. "We've been blessed. We have the money. And we want to give to Ole Miss. We all came to the agreement we wanted to give something big. And we did."
Eligibility in the M-Club Alumni Chapter of the Ole Miss Alumni Association is open to all former athletes, managers and trainers of any intercollegiate sport sponsored by the University of Mississippi.
