OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior linebacker D.T. Shackelford was one of the speakers at a recent Mississippi Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, which featured special guest speaker Tony Dungy.
The 26th annual Wild Game Luncheon was held May 3 at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. Ole Miss athletics director Ross Bjork gave the opening prayer, while Shackelford and a female student-athlete from Mississippi State shared their testimonies of faith.
Dungy, a former NFL coach who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl title in 2007, then spoke to the crowd of more than 3,000. In addition to his impressive coaching career, Dungy is a best-selling author, is involved in a number of charitable organizations and now serves as an analyst for NBC's Football Night in America.
Shackelford has been an active member of Ole Miss FCA since he arrived in Oxford. Among his activities, he helped lead a group of Rebel football players on a spring break mission trip to the country of Panama earlier this year.
