OXFORD, Miss. -The Ole Miss Athletic Department got into the move-in spirit on Friday (Aug. 23) when it teamed up to help Ole Miss students move into their dorms. The Rebel Athletics Department helped students and parents unload at the Kincannon and Martin-Stockard dormitories.
Dr. Jamil Northcutt, Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations, spearheaded the event and was pleased with the turnout.
"Move-in day was a blast," said Northcutt. "It gave our staff an opportunity to engage our students and their parents. Most importantly, we were able to service them during a special time in their lives."
The move-in event also served as a way to get the athletic department staff together to provide for the Ole Miss University community.
"It's always great to work with our athletics staff to help others; a special thanks to our athletics staff for their commitment and service to the University community."
Athletics Director Ross Bjork was also appreciative of the efforts of the department.
"Our staff, coaches, and student-athletes love giving back to the community - especially our new students, said Bjork. "Volunteering for move-in day is a great way for all of us to put everything in perspective on why we are here -- to help students feel appreciated and give them the best environment to live and learn at Ole Miss. I appreciate the hard work of everyone who participated in move-in day and we will do it again next year!"
