Dr. Henry (Hank) Sherman joined the Ole Miss sports medicine staff as team physician and director of musculoskeletal medicine in June of 2009. In June of 2012, he became Medical Director of the Division of Health and Sports Performance.
Prior to his arrival at Ole Miss, Dr. Sherman served as a team physician for Illinois State University in Normal, Ill. He participated in and directed care of the student-athletes, in addition to providing sideline coverage for athletic events held at ISU.
Dr. Sherman, a native of Chatham, Ill., received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Illinois.
He is fellowship trained and boarded in primary care sports medicine. He completed his fellowship through Indiana University and Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind.
Dr. Sherman is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Sherman, and his wife Tatiana, have a son (Neil) and live in Oxford.
