Physical Therapy
MICHAEL MEURRIER, PT, DPT, OCS Physical Therapist
Michael Meurrier, PT, DPT, OCS, currently serves as a physical therapist for the Division of Student Health and Athletics. Meurrier came to Ole Miss in 2005 to help implement Physical Therapy services on the Oxford campus. Initially his patients consisted of faculty, staff, and students, and in 2006 he became involved in assisting the initial stages of post-operative rehabilitation with the Ole Miss student-athletes.
His day-to-day responsibilities include: collaborating with athletic trainers on post-op athletes, treating patients affiliated with Ole Miss, supervising practicum students, as well as serving as a clinical instructor for the University of Mississippi Medical Center Physical Therapy Department. Meurrier also speaks to various classes on campus on topics related to the profession of physical therapy.
Meurrier earned his B.S. degree in psychology from Mississippi College in 2000. He received his master’s in Physical Therapy in 2003. In 2004, he earned the CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He then completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. In 2012, he earned the Orthopedic Certification Specialty (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association and was also named the University of Mississippi Overall Staff Member of the year.
From 2003-2005, Meurrier was a staff physical therapist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Pavilion. He worked closely with physicians, residents, and therapists at the University Medical Center. He was in charge of Performance Improvement while also serving as a Clinical Instructor for the Physical Therapy Department.
Meurrier is married to the former Meredith McCormack of Batesville, Miss. They have two children, Myla and Selah. In his spare time, Meurrier enjoys reading, spending time with his girls, teaching Financial Peace, and serving in his church.
