Volunteer internships through the Ole Miss strength and conditioning department are currently available to both undergraduate and graduate students who would like to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. The interns at the University of Mississippi will have an opportunity to work with all 13 of our men's and women's Olympic sports. As a staff we believe in providing our interns with the best instruction possible in order to enhance their strength and conditioning career opportunities. Interns will be expected to assist in various aspects of the program. The level of ambition of the intern will determine the level of the learning experience. Assistant strength and conditioning coach John Simmons oversees the University of Mississippi internship program. Interns will be expected to participate in the following:

Various daily coaching assignments:

  • Daily facility and equipment maintenance
  • Staff meetings
  • Assist in overseeing supplement distribution
  • Weekly teaching sessions with strength and conditioning staff members
  • Final project or lecture to strength and conditioning staff on assigned topic

Application and submission of Resume information deadline are as follows:

  • Spring Semester - Nov. 1
  • Summer Semester - April 1
  • Fall Semester - July 1
