IPF Enhancement - New Team Meeting Room The Indoor Practice Facility opened its doors in the fall of 2004 and has since been central to our student-athletes' training and development. At the time of its construction, the IPF made a significant impact on the tools available to our student-athletes. The impact continues today with many of our student-athletes across all sports utilizing the facility's training area and weight room. The first phase of the IPF enhancement will be the construction of a new state-of-the-art football team meeting room. Using architectural designs by Cooke Douglass Farr Lemons, construction of the new team meeting room is planned to begin in late 2011, with an estimated cost of $2.2 to $2.5 million. It will be connected to the north end of the Indoor Practice Facility, cutting into the courtyard south of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Clay & Elinor Herrington Golf Center Located adjacent to the Whitten Golf Complex at the Ole Miss Golf Course, the proposed 3,400-square-foot, $700,000 indoor hitting facility will be a state-of-the-art athletic training facility offering the finest amenities in college golf. Featuring two full-size hitting bays as well as a team meeting room, the Clay and Elinor Herrington Golf Center will be critical to recruiting, training and preparation efforts for our golf programs. The complex will also feature the latest in audio-video technology including computer swing analysis. Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center Expansion In 2007, preliminary plans to expand the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center were announced by the athletic department. Palmer/Salloum already ranks as one of the nation's finest collegiate tennis facilities. The $2 million expansion will compliment the already stunning facility by adding seats and enhancing the player and coach areas; including the locker rooms, study area, and coaches' offices. The impact of the expansion will greatly benefit Coach Chadwick, Coach Beyers, and our nationally ranked tennis programs. To date, approximately half of the project cost has been pledged. More gifts are needed and there are still naming opportunities available. If you would like to find out more, please contact Danny White at (662) 915-7159 or dwhite@olemiss.edu. The men's and women's basketball teams moved into the brand new $13 million, 51,000-square-foot facility in January 2010. The team spaces are specialized with shared weight and training rooms, and separate men's and women's film rooms, including computer terminals and video access. Separate team lounges also include computer access, game area and a kitchenette. Individual practice courts for the men's and women's teams allow both to maximize their practice time. The staff/coaches spaces are adjacent to the rotunda/lobby. Coaches' offices, a conference room, a copy center, and staff locker and dressing facilities complete the suites. The head coaches' offices provide direct access to and view of their respective practice courts. There are still many naming opportunities available. For more information, please contact Danny White at (662) 915-7159 or dwhite@olemiss.edu.
The $20 million renovation included: box and grandstand seats extending down the first and third baselines; the Diamond Club area, including 880 club seats; additional concessions and restroom facilities; a state of the art locker room and team meeting room; and a new playground for families to enjoy. Although the team, coaches, and fans are already enjoying the renovations, there are still many naming opportunities available.
