Ole Miss Women’s Basketball ….. Catching Up With …..

First and Last Name: Kristen Lee

Maiden Name: Goehring

Name of spouse: Mark Lee

Names and ages of children: Savannah Lee – 12, Macey Lee – 10, Olivia Lee – 7, Gabriel Lee – 5 (twin), Sawyer Lee – 5 (twin)

Where are you currently living? How far will you travel for the reunion? Jackson, Tenn., two hours.

Are you currently working? Tell us about your job or current occupation. Yes, I am Coordinator of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Regional Hospital of Jackson. I work three days a week!

What other sports/hobbies/activities are you interested in? Coaching basketball, watching my kids play sports.

What do you miss the most about Ole Miss/Oxford? My basketball teammates and the relationships and friendships we formed.

How did you first become interested in basketball? My dad loved basketball and played at the University of Houston. My grandfather loved basketball and played at the University of Memphis, and my brother played at LSU…it’s in the blood, it’s a family thing!

What is your favorite thing about basketball? I am EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE so I really miss the game itself and the competition that comes with any game. I also miss the way it felt minutes before a game started, warming up…the excitement, nervousness, fear, etc! I get somewhat excited like this when my kids play ball now but not near like how I felt when I was stepping onto the court!

Do you have a favorite team? Not really, just watching NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball

What is your favorite memory from playing basketball at Ole Miss? Winning the SEC Championship and going undefeated in the SEC the 1st year the SEC had 12 teams – we had to beat Tennessee and Vandy (two awesome teams) to do this!

What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since graduating? My five kids!

If you could go back, what is one thing that you would do differently? I would keep in touch with my friends I made during my four years of Ole Miss Rebels Women’s Basketball!

Do you have a most embarrassing moment you would like to share? When we were running one time after we lost a game and I was trying to stall Coach Chancellor because he was running us to death and so I said “Do we start running on the start of when you say  “Go” or at the end?” This made Coach soooo mad but it did stall him and allow us to catch our breath!!

What is the most interesting place that you have traveled to? Negril, Jamacia for a romantic trip with my husband about 13 years ago.
