McPhee-McCuin Finalizes Women’s Basketball Staff for 2018-19 Season

Women’s Basketball Adds Three More to 2018-19 Staff

Ed "Buck" Mahan joins McPhee-McCuin's staff as the coordinator of video services in 2018-19 after working the 2018 season at his alma mater, Clemson, as the video coordinator.

"I am excited that he is a part our family here at Ole Miss," McPhee-McCuin said. "He was a part of our championship staff at Jacksonville. He is extremely passionate about his role on this staff, and Buck will continue to be impactful here. His work ethic is unmatched."

Mahan spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach on McPhee-McCuin's staff at Jacksonville, where he helped the Dolphins to an Atlantic Sun title and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth in 2016. During his two seasons at Jacksonville, Mahan used statistical analysis to enhance the team's on-court performance, ran the team's social media accounts and created recruiting materials and highlight videos.

He also has experience working with a WNBA team, as he served as the assistant video coordinator for the Connecticut Sun during the 2017 season. In that position, he organized film for scouting reports and postgame analysis, and used programs such as SportsCode and JustPlay to assist the staff with scouting opponents during the season.

Mahan spent two seasons from 2013-15 as a graduate assistant director of operations and analytics at Marshall.

Mahan, who graduated from Clemson in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences with a focus in statistics, was the head student manager and equipment manager for the Tigers during his undergraduate career. He was the first-ever CLEMMYs award winner, as he was the recipient of the Unsung Hero Award at the Clemson Athletic Department's first-ever athletic and academics award show.
