Ole Miss Names Brett Frank Acting Head Women's Basketball Coach

Taja Edwards enters her first year with the Ole Miss women's basketball program in 2012-13. She was elevated from video coordinator to assistant coach on October 24, 2012.

Edwards, a native of Carson, Calif., comes to Ole Miss after spending the previous year as the video coordinator for Cal Sparks in Los Angeles. She has also served as the director of operations for the Cal Sparks Extreme in Fresno, Calif., since March of 2012.

Edwards was a four-year letterwinner at Fresno State where she won four Western Athletic Conference titles and made four NCAA Tournament appearances.

While at Fresno State, she also did an internship with the external media relations department and served as a media escort at the 2012 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds that the Bulldogs hosted.

Edwards served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice President in 2010 and earned her bachelor's degree in communications in the spring of 2011.
