Recap

Ole Miss Head Coach Matt Insell

On the game…
“We battled for the most part, but they’re just so big and strong in there, our kids were battling in there, but some games you’re just outmanned inside. Not that our kids weren’t battling, they were in there going hard at them. When you play teams like that your guards need to get in there and start helping with some rebounding.  We got killed on the boards, especially offensive rebounds.”

 On Tia Faleru’s foul trouble…
“She’s got to play smarter. I played her in the second half to try and get her back in rhythm because she was so far out of rhythm. She’s got to get some confidence and rhythm playing with her hand. It’s very frustrating to look at your rebounding margin and your best rebounder is not in there. We need her in there and she wasn’t in there.”

 On moving forward…
“I know I sound like a broken record, but I told the team in the locker room that we’ve got to go back to work. We can’t let this game multiply into several other losses. We have to work Friday and Saturday and get ready to go to Alabama because that’s the biggest game of the year because it’s the next game. We’ve got to get a big win there and then come back home against Vanderbilt with a chance to get back even at 2-2.”

On the play of Amber Singletary and Tianah Alvarado
“Tianah (Alvarado) has had her ups and downs and she’s been practicing well, so I gave her a chance in the second half. Amber (Singletary) is the same way. You earn playing time and Amber and Tianah both know that. They haven’t been there best all the time at practice, but the last couple of days they have, and I wanted to give them some time in the second half. They’ve earned some more playing time for Sunday. You’ll see a lot more of those two on Sunday.”
