Recap

Ole Miss Head Coach Matt Insell

 On the game…
“We have to guard. We are not guarding, when you give up 93 points to a team that is averaging 65 points per game. A lot of that was us. They did nothing that we weren’t prepared for. We have to start taking game plans and putting it in action in the floor and that come to coaching too. I have to start playing the players that have bought in and are committed.”

On defense…
“We spend a lot of time on defense in practice. The drill are good, I guess we need to change up some of our drills and make them more “game-like” Allowing 93 points in this league is not going to cut it and to a team that’s struggling and not averaging that, it’s frustrating, very frustrating.”

On Valencia McFarland picking up her fifth foul …
"I left in with four fouls and she had to play. We don’t have anybody else that feels comfortable at that position. Amber Singletary does a great job of trying to be a point guard but Amber’s really a two guard, so she’s playing out of position.”

On the play of Tia Faleru
“She’s getting better and better, she came out and battled today. We probably didn’t get her the ball as much as we should have but she did have 21 attempts. Very happy with her and the energy and passion she plays with. She came out here and she wanted to win this game. We were down and she went out there and worked just as hard as she could work. She’s a veteran and played with some toughness out there.”
