OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s basketball signee Toree Thompson (Broken Arrow, Okla. /Broken Arrow) has been named a McDonald’s All-America nominee it was announced on Tuesday (Jan. 7). Thompson, a 5-8 guard, is ranked No. 108 in the Premier Basketball Report Class of 2014 national rankings and is also No. 123 in the 2014 Elite 150 national rankings.
A group of 24 players will be selected to the All-America team, and the final roster will be announced during the McDonald's All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. (CST). The 13th Annual McDonald's All-American Girls Game will be played in Chicago at the United Center on April 2.
Ole Miss opens a two-game SEC road trip on Thursday when it travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on the eighth-ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers on Thursday (Jan. 9). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) and the game will air on CSS and will be available on ESPN3.
