Ole Miss Falls to LSU
The Ole Miss women's basketball team fell in a physical SEC matchup with the LSU Tigers Thursday night at The Pavilion.

The Ole Miss women's basketball team will travel to Greenville, SC for the 2017 SEC Tournament held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The Rebels earned the No. 10 seed and will take on No. 7 LSU on Thursday at 6 PM ET.

1. The Ole Miss women's basketball team closed the regular season with a 62-49 win over Texas A&M. The win, coupled with an Alabama loss, gave the Rebels the No. 10 seed for this week's SEC Tournament. Ole Miss will take on No. 7 seed LSU in second round actin on Thursday at 5 PM CT in Greenville. Ole Miss earned a first round bye for the first time since the 2014-15 season when they were the No. 9 seed.

2.Shandricka Sessom recorded her 1,000th career point and tallied her fourth straight game in double figures with a team-best 13 points against Texas A&M. Sessom joins Erika Sisk as Rebels to score their 1,000th point this season and Sessom is the first too do it was a junior since Valencia McFarland during the 2012-13 season.

3.Taylor Manuel was in double figures with 10 points against the Aggies for the first time since scoring 13 points against Auburn on Feb. 16. Manuel has reached double figures in 10 games and is averaging 8.5 points per game over the last six contests.

4.Shequila Joseph was back in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds against Texas A&M. It was Joseph's first game in double figures in the last 11 outings and her fourth game this season. Joseph is averaging 4.7 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game on the season.

5.Ole Miss and LSU will meet in the SEC Tournament for the fist time since 2008 on Thursday. The Tigers have a 5-0 advantage in games played in the SEC Tournament. The lone meeting between the teams this season came in Oxford, a game LSU won 62-51.

Ole Miss vs. LSU Notables
-Thursday's meeting will be the second meeting between the Rebels and Tigers. LSU earned the 61-52 win in Oxford on Feb. 9. The last time the teams meet in the SEC Tournament was in 2008 with the Tigers winning 80-36. All of the previous SEC Tournament meetings have taken place in the second round as will Thursday's matchup.  

-There are plenty of Tennessee ties between these two times. Ole Miss assistant coach Alex Simmons, along with LSU head coach Nikki Fargas and assistants Tasha Butts and Mickie DeMoss all have ties to Tennessee as players and or coaches.

A Win Would
-Give Ole Miss its 18th win of the season -- moving the Rebels one win away from 19 wins, which are the most wins in the Insell era, a mark that was set in 2014-15.

-Give Ole Miss its second SEC Tournament win in the Insell era and the fist since a 63-62 win over Arkansas in the 2014 SEC Tournament. Ole Miss hasn't won more than two games since 1993 when they reached the semifinal and fell to Vanderbilt.  

Rebels By The Numbers
2- Number of Ole Miss players to reach the 1,000-point milestone this season. Shandricka Sessom earned her 1,000th career point against Texas A&M while Erika Sisk earned her 1,000th career point against Jackson State in the non-conference slate.

10- Ole Miss's seed for the 2017 SEC Tournament. Ole Miss has been the No. 10 seed three times and has a 2-3 record as the No. 10 seed. Ole Miss was last the No. 10 seed in the 2002 tournament.

12-Number of assists Erika Sisk and Shandricka Sessom combined for against Texas A&M. The pair had 12 of Ole Miss' 17 assists.

26-Number of points Madinah Muhammad had against Missouri. The 26 points are a career high and marks her seventh 20-point outing this season.

32- Number of points Ole Miss' senior class combined for on Senior Day. The Rebel seniors had 32 of Ole Miss' 62 points and each member of the senior class made it into the scorebook.

1001- Number of points career points Shandricka Sessom currently had. She became Ole Miss' 28th 1,000 point scorer with 13 points against Texas A&M.   

Scouting LSU
LSU enters the SEC Tournament with a 19-10 record after defeating Vanderbilt, 64-58 on Sunday in Baton Rouge. Raigyne Moncrief, who is averaging 15.9 points per game, lead the Tigers while Chloe Jackson is contributing 12.9 points per game. Moncrief also leads the way on the boards with 6.2 rebounds while Alexis Hyder and Ayana Mitchell are adding 5.4 rebounds per game. The Tigers enter the tournament with a 3-3- record in their last six games and averaging 63.9 points per game to go with 33.4 rebounds per game.

Ole Miss enters the SEC Tournament with a 17-12 record after defeating Texas A&M, 62-49 on Sunday. Shandricka Sessom and Madinah Muhammad continue to lead Ole Miss from the floor. Muhammad leads the way with 13.4 points per game while Sessom isn't far behind with 12.7 points per game. A duo leads Ole Miss on the glass as Shandricka Sessom is averaging 6.0 rebounds per game while Joseph is grabbing 5.3 boards per game. Sessom has posted four double-doubles on the season, most recently recording 14 points and 11 rebounds against Tennessee, while Joseph tallied her second career double-double with 15 points and a career-best 13 rebounds against the Razorbacks. Shelby Gibson is Ole Miss' top scoring freshman with 6.4 points per game.

With a win, Ole Miss will play the No. 2 seed Mississippi State on Friday at 6 PM ET. Should Ole Miss loss they will await to see if they are selected to the play in the postseason. The NCAA and postseason WNIT will make their selections on March 13.
