Incoming Freshman Shequila Joseph Named to England's FIBA U18 European Championship Roster

LONDON – Ole Miss women’s basketball incoming freshman, Shequila Joseph, was one of 12 players selected to represent England at the 2013 FIBA Europe U18 European Championship it was announced on Monday (Aug. 12).

The 2013 U18 European Championship will take place in Vinkovci, Croatia, Aug. 15-25.  England is in Group B which features host team, Croatia, Russia and Spain. The team opens pool play on Thursday (Aug. 15) when it takes on Russia.

Joseph has spent the summer playing internationally and played for Great Britain in July at the U20 European Championships.  She averaged 10.3 points in 21.6 minutes of action while pulling down 7.6 boards per game. She posted back-to-back double-doubles with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Romania and 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Portugal to close the tournament.

Joseph is one of four incoming freshmen that will join the Ole Miss women’s basketball team this fall. She is joined by Tianah Alvarado (St .Petersburg, Fla.), Bretta Hart (Poplarville, Miss.) and Claudia Ortiz Ledesma (Carolina, Puerto Rico).
