OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss men’s and women’s basketball teams participated in Square Jam Friday night on The Square in front of about 2,500 fans to help kick off the official start of practice.
During the event, in which a court and lights were set up on The Square in front of City Hall, the teams participated in games including knockout, a three-point contest and the men competed in a dunk contest.
Basketball season opens with a doubleheader on Nov. 9 in Oxford. The women will host SELA at 5:30 p.m. while the men’s team will play Mississippi Valley State at 8 p.m.
With their straight set win Saturday, the duo of Nik Scholtz and Jonas Lutjen, ranked No. 3 in the nation, advance to the NCAA Final Four Sunday. They are 20-6 on the year with four wins against top-10 teams.Sunday's semifinals... read more
