Schiavone Leads Ole Miss At Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. – Ole Miss women’s golf newcomer Stani Schiavone fired rounds of 71 and 73 today to lead the Rebels on the first day of play at the Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Schiavone’s round of 71 is her lowest career round as a Rebel and she is currently tied for 10th overall out of the 94-player field (73-71—144).

Friday’s round was postponed until today as heavy rains swept through the area. Team’s played 36 holes today and will play the final 18 holes on Sunday as originally scheduled.

After 36 holes complete, No. 5 Oklahoma leads the 16-team field with a 6-under 570. Ole Miss is tied for 10th after two rounds with a 34-over 610.

In the morning round, Schiavone led Ole Miss with a 1-over 73, including an eagle and two birdies. Ericka Schneider carded a 2-over 74 in her first round of the day for the Rebels.
