Schneider Tied For First Heading Into Final Round

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Ole Miss women’s golf team fired its second lowest round of the year with a 294 to move up two spots in the standing after two rounds of play at the LSU Golf Classic at The University Club.

Ole Miss is in 10th place out of 14 teams after carding a six-over 294 in today’s second round. In addition, Ericka Schneider fired a season-best, and tied her career best round, with a three-under 69 and sits in a tie for first with one round remaining.

The Rebels rebounded from a round of 322 on Friday to card a 294 today, as four of Ole Miss’ five players carded significantly lower rounds today than Friday.

Arizona leads the field with a 14-over 590 through two rounds of play.

Abby Newton is in a tie for 21st after turning in a one-over 73 on Saturday. Stani Schiavone carded a two-over 74 and is in a tie for 51st while Taelor Rubin carded a six-over 78 and is in a tie for 65th.

Alison Hovatter turned in a 14-over 86 and Katie Voll, who is competing as an individual, is in 68th after carding an 11-over 83.
