Rebels Conclude Play In The LSU Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss women’s golfer Ericka Schneider turned in a six-over 78 today to finish in fourth place out of the 79-player field to lead Ole Miss on the final day of the LSU Golf Classic at The University Club.

The fourth-place finish is a career-best finish for Schneider and ties the best finish by an Ole Miss golfer this year.

As a team, the Rebels played Sunday’s final round in windy conditions and carded a 37-over 325 on Sunday. For the tournament, Ole Miss finished 12th out of 14 teams (322-294-325—941).

Arkansas won the 14-team tournament, carding a 35-over 899 while the Razorbacks’ Emily Tubert won individual medalist honors carding a 216 (72-72-72). 

Abby Newton finished in a tie for 36th (78-73-83—234) while Stani Schiavone carded a 243 (85-74-84) to finish in a tie for 55th place.

Taelor Rubin finished in a tie for 60th (88-78-80—246) and Alison Hovatter turned in a 255 (84-86-85) to finish in a tie for 72nd.

Katie Voll, completing as an individual, finished in a tie for 74th (84-83-89—256).

Up next for Ole Miss is the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate hosted by the Rebels April 5-7 at the Ole Miss Golf Course.
