OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss women’s golf team finished in eighth place out of 18 teams at the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate held Friday-Sunday at the Ole Miss Golf Course, marking the Rebels’ fourth top-10 finish this spring.

Coastal Carolina won the tournament, carding a 1-under 863 while Coastal Carolina golfer, Jessica Alexander, was the top individual finisher, firing a 8-under 208 for the tournament.

Abby Newton was Ole Miss’s top finisher, carding a 4-over 220 for the tournament to finish in a tie for 14th.

Stani Schiavone shot a 3-over 75 on Sunday and ended the tournament in a tie for 28th with an 8-over 224. Kathryn Fowler carded a 2-over 74 for the second round in a row to finish in a tie for 38th (10-over 226).

Alison Hovatter turned in a 3-over 75 today and finished the tournament in tie for 38th (10-over 226). Ericka Schneider carded a 4-over 76 Sunday to end the tournament in a tie for 46th with a score of 11-over 227.

Taelor Rubin, who competed as an individual, carded a 3-over 75 in today’s final round and ended the tournament tied for 38th with a 10-over 226. Katie Voll, Ole Miss’ other individual golfer, turned in her best round of the weekend Sunday with a 3-over 75. She ended the tournament in a tie for 56th (14-over 230).

Ole Miss’ next action is the 2012 SEC Championships, April 19-21 in Birmingham, Ala.
