Women's Golf Finishes Play At SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Ole Miss women's golf team carded its best round of the tournament in today's third and final round at the 2013 SEC Women's Golf Championship at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala.

Ole Miss' Stani Schiavone (73-78-79--230) recorded a top-15 finish for Ole Miss as she tied for 14th while Abby Newton (78-81-73--232) finished in a tie for 23rd.

As a team, Ole Miss finished in 12th place (317-321-303--941). Four of the five Rebel golfers recorded their lowest score of the tournament in today's final round.

Alabama won the 14-team tournament with a 35-over 899. Crimson Tide golfer Stephanie Meadow won the individual medalist honors, carding an even-par score of 216.

Alison Hovatter finished the tournament in a tie for 52nd (81-82-76--239) while Ericka Schneider carded a 4-over 76 today to finish the tournament in a tie for 57th. Kathryn Fowler turned in a 6-over 78 in the final round to end the tournament in 69th.
