AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Ericka Schneider carded a three-over 75 in today’s second round of the NCAA East Regional hosted by Auburn at the Auburn University Club to lead the Ole Miss women’s golf team.

As a team, Ole Miss is tied for 17th after two rounds of play in the 24-team field. The Rebels carded a 20-over 308 and are 31-over 607 through two rounds.

Alabama continues to lead the field and is 22-under 554 through two rounds.

Abby Newton carded a five-over 77 today while Taelor Rubin carded a five-over 77 in the second round.

Stani Schiavone turned in a seven-over 79 today while Alison Hovatter carded a nine-over 81.

The Rebels’ appearance in this year’s NCAA Regional marks the program’s fifth-consecutive appearance and ninth in program history.

Three regional tournaments are being conducted May 9-11 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies apply.

A total of 378 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.

The championships finals will be held May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., and will be hosted by Georgia.

The third and final round will tee off tomorrow morning starting at 7 a.m. due to impending weather. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
