VAIL, Colo. - Senior Ericka Schneider fired a 2-under 70 today to lead Ole Miss on day two of the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Course in Vail, Colo.

Schneider recorded four birdies on her final five holes of the day and finished the day with a total of six. After two rounds, she is in a tie for 9th in the 90-player field.

"The team scored much better today as result of taking care of their ball better," head coach Michele Drinkard said.  "We had more opportunities because we left more shots below the hole and in easier places to get up and down to save pars.  As a team, we grew wiser today in course management and look to build on this knowledge tomorrow."

As a team, Ole Miss is in fourth place (596) while Pepperdine (575) is in first in the 18-team field.

Haley Sanders carded a 2-over 74 while Abby Newton ended the day carding a 3-over 75, an eight-stroke improvement over her round yesterday.

Alison Hovatter carded a 5-over 77 while Kathryn Fowler recorded a 14-over 86.

The final round will be played tomorrow and fans can follow the action with live stats at golfstat.com.
