WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior Taelor Rubin shot a five-over par 77 to pace the Ole Miss women’s golf team in second day action at the Landfall Tradition hosted by the University of North Carolina – Wilmington on Saturday (Oct. 26).

Rubin was 8-over on the front nine but rebounded by shooting 3-under on the back nine including a birding the final three holes. Rubin’s round pushed her up to 58th place, two spots from where she was entering the day.

Sophomore Alison Hovatter fired a round of 8-over par 80 on the day, while Stani Schiavone and Maria Toennessen both shot 10-over par 82. Abby Newton was 11-over par 83 on the afternoon.  As a team, the Rebels are sitting in 17th place, with a two-day score of 637.

Alabama’s Stephanie Meadow continues to lead the field and had the highlight of the round with a hole-in-one on the par 3, 13th hole. Meadow posted a posted a 1-under 71 during the second round to build a two-shot lead over Duke’s Yu Liu and Clemson’s Ashlan Ramsey.  The 10th-ranked Crimson Tide continue to lead the field combined for a 2-over total of 290 on Saturday and carries an eight-stroke lead into Sunday’s final round.

Final round action at the Landfall Tradition begins with a shotgun start slated for 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. Fans can follow all the action at GolfStat.
