WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior Haley Sanders fired a 3-over 75 in the final round of the Landfall Tradition to earn a 13th place finish, as the Rebels shot a 307 for the day to finish in 14th place.

Purdue took home the tournament championship, besting second place No. 3 Auburn by 14 strokes.  The Boilermakers held a narrow lead over the Tigers going into Sunday’s round before they sealed the victory with a 297 team score.

“This was a nice to finish to the tournament with a better score than the first two rounds,” said Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard.  “The team understands that one round does not define what we are all about.  However, we also realize that we need to do a better job of putting three rounds together to compete at the top level.”

Sanders was consistent for the entire tournament despite cold and windy conditions in Wilmington.  The junior moved up the leaderboard with a 76 on Saturday and clinched her third career top-20 finish and second of the season with Sunday’s round.

“Haley Sanders played very well for us this trip,” said Drinkard.  “Her tenacity and her focus she has really made a difference in her game this fall.”

Natalie Gleadall got back on track after a tough round Saturday, shooting a 76.  Gleadall stayed at par or under on each of her final 13 holes of the day.

Ericka Schneider also rebounded with her best round of the tournament, carding a 77.

The Rebels have wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule and will return to action Feb. 26-28 for the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, La.

“We will start individual meetings with each player and make a plan on how they can improve in preparation for our Championship Season,” said Drinkard.
