OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss women’s golf team will compete in two tournaments over the next several days, playing at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., March 8-10 followed by the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii, March 12-13.
The Clover Cup, hosted by Norte Dame, will be played at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., while the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will be played at the Kane‘ohe Klipper Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Clover Cup will be 18 holes a day while the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will be 36 holes on March 12 and 18 holes on March 13.
“We’ve had three weeks to prepare and we are ready to get back to competing these next three weeks,” head coach Michele Drinkard said. “We have really been focusing on short game, putting and better strategy on the course. Look forward to see us put our tools to work.”
Ole Miss’ lineup for the Clover Cup will be Ericka Schneider, Taelor Rubin, Stani Schiavone, Abby Newton and Kathryn Fowler. Alison Hovatter will compete as an individual. A new lineup for Hawaii will be made after Arizona and the same six golfers will make the trip to Hawaii.
Ole Miss has competed in one spring tournament to date, placing 10th at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 10-12.
