Magnolia Invitational Highlights 2017-18 Ole Miss Women's Golf Schedule
Aug. 3, 2017

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s golf announced its 2017-18 fall and spring schedules, highlighted by the Magnolia Invitational, which the Rebels will co-host alongside the Mississippi State Bulldogs in early October.

“I am extremely excited about our upcoming schedule,” said head coach Kory Henkes. “Our fall schedule is highlighted by a trip to the Ocean Course, Hawaii and the inaugural Magnolia Invitational which we are co-hosting with Mississippi State.”

The Magnolia Invitational (Oct. 1-3) at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi—home of the 2019 U.S. Women’s Amateur—breaks up three trips to Henkes’ home state of South Carolina. Ole Miss opens its season at The Invitational at The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island (Sept. 4-5). Next comes a return trip to Greenville for the Lady Paladin Invitational (Sept. 22-24), where the Rebels posted their third lowest tournament score of the 2016-17 season.

After co-hosting with MSU in West Point, Ole Miss heads back to Kiawah Island for the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 22-24), where senior Katy Harris will return as the defending tournament champion. Finally, the Rebels will close their fall season with a trip to Hawaii for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.

The Rebels open their spring in Las Vegas (Feb. 26-27) before returning to The South for the first of three tournaments hosted by Southeastern Conference rivals. Ole Miss first heads to Gainesville, Florida for the SunTrust Gator Invitational (Mar. 10-11), followed by the Evans Derby Experience (Mar. 18-20) in Auburn, Alabama.

“We are playing in several SEC-hosted events in the spring, which will be a great preparation for our SEC tournament and NCAA postseason play,” Henkes said. “The team is eager to get the season started.”

Henkes’ squad will then head to Georgia for consecutive tournaments. The Rebels visit Kennesaw’s Pinetree Country Club on Mar. 26-27, followed by the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic (Apr. 13-15), hosted by Georgia in Athens.

Finally, Ole Miss will return to Greystone Country Club in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Championship (Apr. 20-22). NCAA Regionals are set for May 7-9.

The Rebels will return their top three performers from a year ago, junior Martina Flori, sophomore Pi-Lillebi Hermansson and Harris. Senior Laura Hoskin and junior Kie Purdom also return with experience for Ole Miss, and they’ll be joined by a talented group of newcomers. NAIA All-American and Coastal Georgia transfer Diane Lim, Mississippi’s No. 1 prospect Conner Beth Ball, Louisiana’s top prospect Julia Johnson and two-time U.S. Girls’ Junior qualifier Macy Holliday all hope to challenge for a spot in the Rebels’ top five this season.
