COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ole Miss junior Abbey Stanec completed competition in the NCAA Rifle Championships Saturday, shooting a 587 in air rifle to finish 20th among the 44 competitors at the Converse Hall and French Field House on the campus of The Ohio State University.

“Abbey performed well overall this weekend,” head coach Valerie Boothe said.  “Though she didn’t finish as high as we would’ve liked, she continues to learn from these tremendous opportunities.  This experience will only help prepare for success next season.”

On Friday, Stanec posted a 571 in smallbore to finish 36th.  This was the Ohio native’s second NCAA appearance after finishing runner-up in air rifle in 2012.

West Virginia claimed its 15th national championship with a total aggregate score of 4679 to beat Kentucky by nine. Both are members of the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) along with Ole Miss.
