Rebel Rifle Defeats NC State In Alaska Team Earns First Win Of the Season

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – In their first ever trip to Alaska, the Ole Miss rifle team got things off to a great start inside the range at Alaska-Fairbanks, defeating fellow GARC member NC State 4614-4570 to pick up their first win of the young season.
The day began with the Rebels posting a 2285 in smallbore to the Wolfpack’s 2266. Senior Melissa Quartarone led the team with a 581, while Abbey Stanec shot a 577.
In air rifle, the Rebels totaled a 2329 to NC State’s 2304. Quartarone led the Rebels with a 587, and Rena Goodwin posted a 585.
“We are still trying to put it all together,” head coach Valerie Boothe said. “Today was a step in the right direction, we just have to keep working and moving forward.”
