OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss Rifle team earned their third win of the season, defeating the University of Akron 4645-4633 Sunday at the Patricia C. Lamar Readiness Center. The win brings Ole Miss to 3-0 in Great America Rifle Conference competition.

SmallBore results…

Air Rifle results…
In air rifle, Ole Miss shot a 2356, which ranks among the top five scores in school history (tied for third) and bested Akron by 16 points (2340). Kamilla Kisch, whose 592 tied her personal best, led the team. Harley Gardner (589), Emily Cock (589) and Jessica Haig (586) also contributed to the score. Laura Cinadr led the Zips with a 590 in air rifle.

Other highlights…
Freshman Abby Buesseler finished with a personal best in air rifle (587) and combined aggregate (1161). Her smallbore score (574) tied her personal best.

Marsha’s Minute
“This was actually a close match and I’m glad we came out ahead,” said head coach Marsha Beasley. I feel like we should have been a few points higher in smallbore.  We know what we need to work on and I look for us to fill the holes in our performance.

“We won the match on our strength of our air rifle performance. All four of our counters were solid and it was nice to see Kamilla shoot a 592 for the second match in a row. I was especially glad to see the team do well in air after struggling a bit in smallbore.”

Up Next…
The Rebels will travel to Morgantown, West Virginia to take on No.1 West Virginia on Saturday. The match will start at 7 a.m. CT
