MORGANTOWN, W.V. – Senior Kim Coffey posted a season-high 585 in Air Rifle to lead the No. 9 ranked Ole Miss women’s rifle team against No. 1 West Virginia Friday in a Great America Rifle Conference match.

West Virginia won the match 4720-4624.  The Mountaineers were led by Petra Zublasing, who posted an aggregate score of 1191.

Coffey led the Rebels with an aggregate score of 1159 including her season-best 585 in Air.  Last year’s NCAA runner-up, junior Abbey Stanec posted a team-high 586 in Air Rifle to finish with an aggregate of 1156.  Junior Melissa Quartarone tallied an 1154 total with a 574 in smallbore and a 580 in Air.

“It’s always tough to go against the No. 1 ranked team,” head coach Valerie Boothe said.  “We put forth a great effort.  While we didn’t get the win, we walked away with our best road match this season.  Knowing what to expect from the range should give us a better advantage for our match tomorrow.”

The Rebels will face 13th-ranked and fellow GARC member North Carolina State Saturday.
