OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 11 ranked Ole Miss women’s rifle team looks to snap a two-match losing streak this weekend with a pair of matches against top 10 foes on the road in West Point, N.Y.
On Saturday, the Rebels will face No. 6 Jacksonville State in West Point then on Sunday they will face off against No. 5 Army. Both matches will take place at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.
The Rebels are coming off losses to No. 3 Kentucky and No. 10 Memphis last weekend at home. Junior Melissa Quartarone posted a season-high 593 in air rifle against Memphis, which was one off her career-best.
“We are excited to get out on the road. We face two more quality teams and look to put ourselves in better position for postseason opportunities,” said head coach Valerie Boothe.
Army (5-2) is in the midst of a three-match win streak following last weekend’s 4648-4602 home victory over Ohio State. The Black Knights, like Ole Miss, are members of the Great America Rifle Conference, while Jacksonville State is in the Ohio Valley Conference.
