OXFORD, Miss. -- While the student population at Ole Miss heads to various destinations for spring break, Rebel freshman Kamilla Kisch will start her spring break in Charleston, South Carolina at the NCAA Rifle Championships.

The NCAA Championships will be held March 9-10 at McAlister Field House at The Citadel. Kamilla will compete Saturday, March 10, 2018.

A look at Kisch's First Year at Ole Miss
Kisch shot a personal best 596 (one off the school record) at the NCAA Qualifier held in Oxford on Feb. 17 and was one of four individuals selected to compete in air rifle. She became the second Rebel freshman to qualify for the NCAA Championships joining two-time All-American Alison Weisz, who qualified in 2014 as a freshman.

In her first GARC Championships, Kisch joined fellow freshman Emily Cock in the finals of air rifle and finished seventh. She helped the Rebels to third in air rifle and fourth overall. Kisch ranks second on the team with a 588.9 average in air rifle, right behind senior Jessica Haig. She has posted a score in the 590s six times this season.

NCAA Championships Breakdown
The top eight teams in both the smallbore three-position and air rifle events were selected

based on the average of the three highest regular-season aggregate scores with no more than one match at any given site. The average of the three highest scores was added to the aggregate scores from the designated qualifiers to determine the top eight teams.

The eight teams participating are: West Virginia University, Texas Christian University, Murray State, University of Kentucky, Alaska Fairbanks, U.S Air Force Academy, Ohio State University, and the University of Nebraska.

Schedule of Events
Individual and team competitions in smallbore three-position (60 shots) will be held Friday, and individual and team competitions in air rifle (60 shots) will be held Saturday. The overall team champion will be determined by combining the smallbore and air rifle team total scores into one aggregate score for each institution. Saturday's competition begins at 9:45 a.m. with the first relay and concludes at 3 p.m. with the air rifle finals.

Kamilla's Mark
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to compete in a match I haven't experienced before, and being able to represent Ole Miss at this level of competition is an honor and a privilege," said Freshmen Kamilla Kisch.

Coach Lucas' Take on Kamilla
"We are happy to have the opportunity to represent Ole Miss at the NCAA Championships this weekend," said assistant Coach Lucas. With that said, Kamilla has been working hard this entire season and has earned her opportunity to compete as an individual in the air rifle competition at this year's NCAA Rifle Championships. Kamilla has always had the work ethic to achieve her goals but in addition, it is great to see how much she has learned over the course of one season. Overall, Coach Beasley and I are looking forward to what the future holds for not only Kamilla but also for the team."
