Former, Incoming Soccer Players Named to WPSL Team Mallory Coleman Played For Ole Miss From 2006-09, Sara Coleman Will Be A Freshman This Fall

JACKSON, Miss. – Former Ole Miss soccer player Mallory Coleman and incoming freshman Sara Coleman have each been named to the roster of the Fuego soccer team’s roster of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the league announced recently. The team will play in Jackson, Miss.
In addition, Mallory Coleman will also serve as the coach of the Fuego’s U23 team. While at Ole Miss (2006-09), she played in 79 career matches with 59 starts, mostly as a defender. Mallory served as a 2009 team captain, was a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and ended her career with six career assists.
Sara Coleman will be a freshman for the Rebels in the fall and is from Laurel, Miss. She attended West Jones High School where she was a First Team All-District selection (2007-12) and a Second Team All-State honoree. (2007-08)
The WPSL is the largest women's soccer league in the U.S. and is a minor league for the WPSL-Elite (formerly known as the WPS -- Women's Professional Soccer).
Fuego Soccer of Jackson, Miss., has now joined the WPSL and will play teams from Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida in the Southeastern Division of the WPSL. The first home game is scheduled for Friday, May 25 at Jackson Prep Soccer Fields at 6 p.m. and a U23 WPSL game at 8 p.m.
Players are mostly from the Mississippi area and have played or are currently still playing at Ole Miss, Miss State, Univ. of Southern Miss., Louisiana State University, Alabama, Univ. of Miami, Univ. of North Carolina, William Carey, Belhaven University, Mississippi College, University of Mobile, Hinds CC, Jones County Junior College, Meridian CC, and Pearl CC.
Fuego has recently signed several international players from England and Australia and also have several talented high school players on the U23 team. The head coach is Jon Marcus Duncan of Jackson Prep and Mallory Coleman, a former player at Ole Miss is the coach of the U23 team.
Other home games are June 9 at 6 and 8 p.m., June 16 at 6 p.m., June 17 at 1 p.m., and July 7 at 7 p.m.. See website www.msfuego.org for additional information.
