Aug. 9, 2018

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss senior forward/midfielder CeCe Kizer has been selected to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, announced Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club.

The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. This year’s winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

“I’m incredibly happy for CeCe receiving this much deserved recognition,” said head coach Matt Mott. “Based on her performances the past three years this recognition comes as no surprise to those of us that work with her daily.”

Kizer, one of the most prolific players to ever wear a Rebel kit, is one of 45 players tabbed to the women’s watch list, including one of just six from the SEC. Kizer joins Tennessee’s Katie Cousins and Khadija Shaw, South Carolina’s Grace Fisk, Florida’s Deana Rose and Texas A&M’s Ally Watt.

As a junior, Kizer put together one of the finest seasons in program-history. The Overland Park, Kansas native led the SEC with 39 points and 16 goals, while ranking fourth in the nation in both points and goals per game. Kizer was bestowed with a litany of postseason honors, including becoming the first USC All-American in Rebel-history.

Entering her final season in Oxford, Kizer has a chance to etch her name in the history books for Ole Miss. She currently ranks fifth all-time with 35 goals, nine short of the all-time record. Meanwhile, Kizer’s 84 career points is the sixth most all-time, 24 behind the program-record.
