Because the game had not yet reached the 70th minute, it was ruled a no contest. No results or statistics are counted for either team.
The Rebels entered the match with a 3-1 record after defeating No. 24 Memphis 1-0 on Friday, while the Golden Eagles are 2-2 on the season.
Though the stats don't count, Ole Miss was out-shooting Southern Miss 8-0 and had four corner kicks to the Eagles' zero when the game was called. Controlling the run of play throughout, the Rebels' best chance came in the 14th minute when freshman Arielle Cohen struck a liner that was saved by the USM goalkeeper and knocked back to Cohen, who again kicked it at the goal only for a USM defender to clear it off the line.
Ole Miss returns to the home pitch next weekend with a Friday matchup against ETSU (7 p.m.) and a Sunday contest versus UALR (1 p.m.).
