Rebels Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award
Matt Mott's Rebels were named a 2012 recipient of the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss soccer team was named a 2012 recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award recently when the organization announced the winners of the annual award honoring academic achievement.

The Rebels claimed the award with a team grade point average of 3.25 for the year.

Ole Miss experienced success on the field and in the classroom this season, advancing to the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament before falling to top-seeded Florida on a last second goal. The Rebels had a pair of All-SEC selections in Mandy McCalla and Rafaelle Souza were honored by the league’s coaches after leading the SEC in goals (13) and points (33).

Souza was also named the SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year with a 3.72 GPA in Engineering. She was also named a Capital One Academic All-District Selection and is in consideration for Capital One Academic All-America by virtue of her selection to an All-District team.
