Complete All-South Region Team

OXFORD, Miss. – Adding to a bevy of postseason laurels following the 2017 season, Ole Miss junior CeCe Kizer has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Team as a midfielder, announced Tuesday night by the coaches organization.

The Overland Park, Kansas native is one of three midfielders to make the cut, being joined by Lindsey Lane of South Carolina and North Carolina’s Joanna Bayles. In all, six SEC players were honored in Kizer and Lane as well as Florida’s Parker Roberts, Rachelle Smith and Kaylan Marckese and Simone Charley of Vanderbilt.

The recognition comes less than a day after the junior was selected to the Best XI Second Team. Other honors received by Kizer this season include First Team All-SEC, USC First Team All-Region, USC Third Team All-America and CoSIDA Academic All-District laurels.

Kizer put together one of the greatest seasons in Ole Miss history in 2017, establishing herself as possibly the top playmaking threat in the SEC after leading the conference with 16 goals and 39 points on the season. Those totals ranked third and second, respectively, across the landscape of Division I soccer.

Kizer’s goal and point totals in 2017 both tied for the fourth most in a single season in the history of Rebel soccer. The production is nothing new for the junior, she currently ranks fifth all-time in career goals at 35, while her 84 career points is good for sixth-most in program history.
